JAYNE WILKINSON

My name is Jayne Wilkinson. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Masters’ Degree in both Accounting and Financial Management.

I am the CEO and Founder of the The Jewels’ Angels Foundation, Inc.

We decided to start this foundation after my youngest daughter, Jewels, took her own life at the age of fourteen years old on November 26, 2016.

I was surprised to later learn, after her death, that I had missed all the warning signs. Our mission for this foundation is to provide special programs and support groups for teens suffering with depression, while educating those around them about the warning signs of suicide or suicidal tendencies.

One important lesson I learned about depression, was that they often feel isolated and alone. We want to get the message out that you are not alone. There are so many people who care about you and want to help.

It’s been a hard journey and our healing process is nowhere close to being done, nor will we completely be healed, but we are committed to helping save at least one child from suicide. It’s something no family should ever have to go through…losing a child is unbearable; however, our mission is strong and we won’t stop fighting for our cause until no child has to suffer with depression and or suicidal thoughts or worse, suicide.
