My name is Paxton Wilkinson, and I am the co-founder, CFO and Secretary of The Jewels’ Angels Foundation, Inc. I have a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Emphasis in Childhood and Adolescent Disorders, and working as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, PCA.
My work is mostly guided by cognitive-behavioral approaches, acceptance commitment therapy, and mindfulness interventions through a trauma-informed lens. I usually work with adolescents 14 and older, as well as young and middle-aged adults, but I can work with adults of any age. I aim to help my clients feel empowered to make changes in their lives that feel good and are geared towards their goals. I encourage acts of self-love, introspection, and acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, offering empathy and safety while working through trauma and other struggles. With personal experience living through the grief of losing a sibling, I want to help you through your grief and loss, finding hope through the pain.
Our foundation is a support network which also provides information about suicide (warning signs, prevention tips, coping mechanisms) and depression. We believe that every single person on this earth is worthy and deserving to be here and want to help others who are struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel and keep fighting. There are so many resources out there to help those struggling with mental illnesses, and so many reasons not to give up. Our main purpose at this point in time is not to cure or treat but to be a helping hand in finding resources and support through rough times. We are also here for support through our mentoring activities with teens, motivational speeches, and personal experiences related to depression and suicide.
